APPROVAL OF THE GROWING A STEM LEARNING CULTURE GRANT PROPOSAL TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH, ASSESSMENT, AND EVALUATION (RAE)
Description
COMPETITIVE: Grant funds of $750,000 will allow the Department of Research, Assessment, and Evaluation, in collaboration with Professional Development and Information Technology, to provide teachers at target schools with professional development in the integration of technology, instruction and assessment, along with developing STEM related curricula. A new Engineering Technology program will be established at BHS and formative assessments will be developed for science.
Recommendation
That the School Board of Sarasota County approve the Growing a STEM Learning Culture grant proposal.
